He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?  ~Micah 6:8

Your Turn!

Cuppa

Okay, it’s time for Your Turn again! Last week was so much fun. This week’s question is,

How long have you been homeschooling?

We are entering our 11th years of learning at home. We unoffically started in late 1997 and 1998 was our first year. What about you?

We are into our 7th year now but it only feels like we only just started.

11 too. Trent did 1/2 a year of Jr Kindergarten.. only because I needed time to learn how to be a stay at home mom to the other two.. but we started in K with some books from the corner dollar store, then I went to a conference, spent loads of money on Abeka… and that lasted – 6 days for math, about 6 months for Spelling and Language Arts… I had to go back and find something else.. and ended up with an ecclectic Charlotte Mason approach.

Now I’ve got to start all over again with Janney and Asher and this new baby.

We have started our 10th year. We started in 1999.
Although now with ds in full time work and 15yodd at highschool I’m only ‘teaching’ our 13yodd now.

This is looking like it will be our last year…13yodd is probably heading off to highschool in 09 😮

    Hi Judith,
Sometimes, I too feel like we’ve only been doing this for a short time, but then there’s times when I feel like I’ve been doing it forever!

    Sombra,
MY eldest dd went to Kindy and Yr at a small private school and both DH and I became heavily involved in the school.

    Lisa,
You’re great! What else can I say? You amaze me. 😎

Good question ~ I’m not even sure how long we’ve been homeschooling, about 5 or 6 years now, I guess. the other day I had to work out what year Michael would be in if he was at school … I like it that I don’t know their grades and have to calculate where the kids would be!

12 yrs. My oldest is a jr. I can’t hardly believe it when I type that. My youngest is 4 so I’ve got a few more yrs to go too!! if I add it all up when my youngest graduates (assuming at 18yrs old) I’ll have 26 yrs in the ‘business’ I think that deserves some kind of retirement! 😆

We have been homeschooling since David was born so that’s 17 years. I never have regretted this decision!
